Thanx Sage

…very nice of you to say that!

…to be honest, when something is so clearly inevitable it hardly seems courageous!

lol!

thanx anyway!

Love this quote!

“People who exist at the margins of society are very much like Alice in Wonderland. They are not required to make the tough decision to risk their lives by embarking on an adventure of self-discovery. They have already been thrust beyond the city’s walls that keep ordinary people at a safe distance from the unknown. For at least some outsiders, “alienation” has destroyed traditional presumptions of identity and opened up the mythic hero’s path to the possibility of discovery. What outsiders discover in their adventures on the other side of the looking glass is the courage to repudiate self-contempt and recognize their “alienation” as a precious gift of freedom from arbitrary norms that they did not make and did not sanction. At the moment a person questions the validity of the rules, the victim is no longer a victim.”

My favourite quote which i kind of made up based on a discussion about how the church is the only army that shoots its wounded…. and im getting it as a tattoo is “don’t shoot the wounded”… i love it. It speaks to me

I’ve never heard that quote about the church but its so true in too many cases sadly, but thank goodness the church isnt Jesus or God, although its meant to represent them. (i mean this as the church as a whole not individual people in it, the church as a movement is shooting too many people down ( and spreading misleading and ignorant information about things it thinks it knows enough about)

Chuck Girard has an awesome song called “Don’t Shoot The Wounded” you can even download it free from http://promonet.iodalliance.com/ if you sign up for a free account and search Chuck Girard. It’s from his album “The Name Above All Names”.

I used it in the first podcast I ever made. 🙂

The lyrics are here http://www.christiangoth.com/shootwounded.html

I thought it would be appropriate to add the front page article from SSO this week about the current actions of the Catholic church for Catholic schools and its possible impact on gay Christians…

“FORMER EDUCATORS TELL WHY THEY FEAR THE LATEST SCHOOL PLAN BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH”

“Once a student asked me if I was gay; I said it didn’t matter to the education he was receiving, but what if the kid had told someone? I could have lost my job at any time and there’s nothing I could have done about it.”

This is very much my experience in the past. I hope we don’t feel the ramifications of this at my school. I’m at a catholic school now. I think if I have have to leave that system, I will leave teaching all together.

We need to see this exemption changed. If your good at what you do, your private life is no one’s business.

Thanx for your continued support of my new journey (and you know who you all are!)
