I posted on this to the ExGay forum. I found it better than Chambers, more specific about what he recognised as harmful in some of the Ex-Gy activities, especially as regards Living Waters group 'therapy'.

Yes – I think so – but equally – I wonder what impact the Apology of Alan Chambers had on his apology.

That first step is is often hardest – and so for him perhaps its easier to make better apology because he can learn from Alan's ?

His answers to comments below the apology are also interesting and give a little more insight.

Thanks for directing me to the comments section below. I found it gave a good spectrum of responses, probably fairly representative of the overall spread. And Thomas comes across as sincere in his replies.

I have to say I find it difficult being an Australian Ex-Gay survivor as we seem to be pretty numerically small, especially in my home town Brisbane here. I have only met one other former minister-ee. I would like to meet more, especially people I knew at the time, but seem to have reached a limit to what I can do to find them. It makes things a bit lonely.
