I guess I define “Church” and “Christianity in general” in different ways. Church is an institution with rules and traditions and norms. Christianity is…well…Jesus and however an individual wants to go about expressing Jesus in their lives…to many even calling it a “faith” is too ridged. I’ve only read what you posted of this book so I’m sure you are right and he meant it in a different way to what I am reading.

I think its something we all do at times isn’t it. Use general terms about the church and christians……as if they were a homogeneous group.
its something I try to be consious of in my writing…….and use terms some christians or certain parts of the church….etc.
its easy for us to stereoptype …….just as we so often are…..hehe.
