Well, it’s happened. Yesterday I said goodbye to my church.

Today I feel empty, depressed, anxious, lonely – desperately wanting the support of a partner, but of course I don’t have one. And right now I’m also kind of terrified that I’ll drive away the guy I met recently who I like a lot, but I don’t know how much he likes me and who would want to date a person battling with depression, hmm?!?

At least I got out of bed and got to work: a victory. Even if it was after 10am, again.

Pray for me, please. Part of me knows that God will have something interesting and good in store for me, but that ‘intellectual’ knowledge really isn’t filtering through to my emotional core at the moment.

Will certainly pray for you Orfeo.

Can I say, that I never thought I would find a partner who would want me because I have MS and use a wheelchair but I did and it didnt take that long, she saw me for me not for what I have, I just want to encourage you that there are good people out there who see you for you, regardless of what might be going on.

You got out of bed and you made it to work, THAT is a victory. We all support you here and hope to see you through with the help of those around you at this time. xo

have you read the velvet rage Orfeo……quite a number in the Sydney F2B group have and found it helpful…..its about our journey to authenticity.

in the end I think we can be so self assured things like whats just happened to you can be like water off a ducks back….but of course that takes time.

if i was asked to leave Hillsong (which I wont be)…..i would consider it there loss not mine.

in the end I would still have my relationship with God…….still have good friends….and if I so desired…..find a new community that accepts me.

I also found Finding the Boyfriend Within a fantastic read. not everyone likes at though as you will read on the reviews on amazon.com. I think it is one of those books that speaks profoundly to some poeple…when they are in the right space to look in the mirror.

Hey Anthony,

Someone had lent me The Velvet Rage some time ago, and I had only read the first couple of chapters. Liked what I saw but put it away until I could really read it properly, while going through a much lighter ‘gay book’.

Well, I read the first HALF of the book today, and… whoa. Yep, definitely helpful. And even ‘validating’ (something the book talks about quite a bit).

Of course, the reason I had time to read the half the book was that I wasn’t at work today (having not really functioned yesterday, and gone home early). But between the book, a gym workout and three Tori Amos albums 😉 … I’m definitely feeling that tomorrow I will be far better equipped to face the world.

So thanks for bringing up the book. And I don’t think it was just you bringing it up.
