Ben Gresham grew up in a conservative Christian environment (Anglican then Pentecostal) where he became a committed Christian. As a teenager, he endured gay reparative therapy before accepting his homosexuality and reconciling that with his faith.
He now actively and passionately supports people from similar backgrounds in his role as Vice-President of freedom2b and co-leader of the Sydney Chapter.
Ben has participated in advocacy work for LGBTI people through interviews on various ABC-TV and radio programmes as well as Channel 10’s ‘The Project’. He has also been the subject of print media interviews.
Ben is featured in the acclaimed 2012 Australian documentary film ‘The Cure’ about the adverse implications of gay conversion therapy programmes. He also speaks at school and community groups.
Ben works as a Town Planner with a municipality in Sydney, and shares his life with his partner Sam and their gorgeous two dogs.
