We have a great way to kick off the year with the Melbourne Pride March coming up on Sunday 1st February. Please put this date into your diaries as we would love for you to come along and march with us!
What: Pride March Victoria 2015. The aim of the march is to recognize and celebrate the people and events that inspire the courage, solidarity, diversity and strong sense of community of Victoria’s LGBTI people. This year Pride March will celebrate it’s 20th Anniversary, so be sure you are there to show your colours! Whilst we call it a march, we enthusiastically encourage dancing, singing, strutting, catwalking and voguing!!! If you have any percussion instruments such as whistles, tambourines, drums bring them along!!
When: Sunday 1st February 2015 from 12pm onwards (the march commences at 2pm)
Where: Participants should arrive at the park on the corner of Lakeside Drive and Fitzroy Street, St Kilda from 12:30pm (midday) onwards. Look out for the sign Freedom2b and assemble there. Please ensure you have a hat, sunscreen and comfortable shoes as the march is 1km in length at an easy walking pace.
RSVP: The event is free so just turn up!
After the march concludes in the Catani Gardens there will be some speeches and a concert. There will be bars, entertainment, and food available throughout Catani Gardens. The MCV Community Village will also be situated in the Gardens for your enjoyment. OR come and join us at Barney Allen’s – 14 Fitzroy St St Kilda from 3.30pm onwards (we have reserved a spot for f2b). If you are not up to marching just come and watch and met us afterwards.
It has always been a really fun day and very community focused. We would love to have a strong freedom2b contingent so please try to come along.
