I’m soooo excited for you guys!

I wish Petey and I could have been there (maybe next year).

Praise God that you had the guts and faith to step out and let people know what God really thinks about them.

(Lets just hope they payed more attention to your message than the message of the float in front! ๐Ÿ˜† )

so my friends here is what we do……everytime we meet someone from our background we connect them with Freedom 2 b(e)…….we welcome them and help where we can to resolve any issues they may have.

already I know of 10 people who didn’t march this year but will next year……imagine each year we doubles our numbers…..this is very concievable and realistic……….we give each other greater courage….and let the world know we exist.

……but more importantly……we will be saving others from the heartache and torment we went through. Just imagine how wonderful that would be.

love you all.

Ok so you and Petey come next year MG and I will come with mine next year ๐Ÿ™‚ “God Willing” ๐Ÿ˜€ and march. Hows that for a challenge? ๐Ÿ˜† It’s more of a moral support because I am going to have to wear diaper under my tight jeans because I will be shitting myself ๐Ÿ˜ณ or oxygen tank to help me breathe ๐Ÿ˜‰ . My partner next to me will have to hold onto me tighter to prevent me from fainting! Giggles. ๐Ÿ˜† My partner is Deafblind with a Guidedog! Sigh… see what he has to put up with these days. ๐Ÿ™„

Love and hugs

Craig.

next year is the 30 year anniversary. Already we have more interested than marched this year (40)…….so it will be wonderful to see it grow.

also I hope to have F2B’s in all the major cities so that will bring in more.

Weโ€™d been standing for nearly three hours waiting for the parade to begin. The lanes of participants next to us began to move off indicating we were only minutes away from making history……….I looked around at our Freedom 2 b(e) group of 40 and began to cry. I thought of each individual and of their journey to bring them to the place where they were proud enough to march…..a journey of great struggle, pain and heartache. I knew the ones in that group that nearly didn’t make it…….the self-loathing took them to thoughts of killing themselves….some even attempted. Self-loathing created by a religion that falsely declares you are not acceptable to God as you are. You see……after telling my story, I live in the privileged position of knowing 1,000โ€™s of peopleโ€™s story as they email me or tell me personally. Their stories have touched my heart and they all came flooding back to me in that moment before we marched off.

I thought of the young people we have lost…..and I cried some more. And I knew that on the 3rd of March 2007 we were drawing a line in the sand…..from now on we will create something new for GLBTIQ people in Pentecostal and Charismatic churchesโ€ฆa safe spaceโ€ฆ.a space of healing……and our visible presence in the parade shows the work has begun. As I looked around I saw that i was not the only one in our group crying……it seems it was a deeply emotional moment for us all….

Wow Anthony, what a vivid description of your experience. I am moved. One day I would like to join you. It is the stories like this that need to be told, so that people in the wider community can understand what it is all about…

Cheers for sharing.

Phil.

you know we would love to have march proudly with us when ever you feel you’d like to make that statement.

Its interesting Phil isn’t it to see where this discussion began and where it has ended up. ๐Ÿ™‚
