Hi Al,

Since the North Shore is pretty well served by train, getting to the monthly f2b meeting in Sydney is really simple – the building is just over the road from Central Station. Even if you're not really in to the official meeting part, there's plenty of socialising that happens afterwards, every time. I still remember the conversations I had at dinner after my first meeting. Finally being able to just chat with people who are in the same boat was awesome.

I'd definitely recommend checking out this thread which Lisey made just a little while ago. She lives not far from you, so the advice in there definitely still stands!

Hi Al

Welcome to f2b! 🙂

Let us know how you go with Chris's great suggestions.

It helps having locals who know the area where you are.

I hope you enjoy reading the stories and articles from others here. 🙂

Blessings,

Ann Maree

Hi AI,

My name is Ben and I am one of the Sydney freedom2b leaders. We would love to welcome you at a meeting sometime. Our next meeting is on Friday 4 October at 7:30pm.

I live in the Inner West but grew up in the Hills area.

Feel free to PM me if you would any further info about freedom2b meetings or just want to chat.

Ben 🙂

Hi Al,

Big welcome from me too 🙂 This is a really great group, they are really supporting, accepting, loving. As mentioned it is great to be able to chat and share with people who you can relate too. I also encourage you to go to F2B meeting in Sydney. I'm in Brisbane but have gone to the Sydney meeting a few times and found them to be a very friendly bunch of people. By the way the Brisbane group is a great friendly bunch too 🙂

Ben is an absolutely inspiration, an incredible young man. There are lots of awesome people in F2B, so you won't go wrong connecting with anyone of them.

God Bless

Cheers Al.

Hi Al,

I am also a Sydney sider living not far from you and I thought I'd make the following suggestions too:

I'm not sure how old you are – but twenty 10 is a great organisation for young people – working with young people of diverse genders and sexualities.

Twenty 10 also merged with the Sydney gay and lesbian counselling service -it's a telephone counselling service (for people of any age) and you may find it helpful to give someone there a call – completely anonymously if you like. These organisations run various coming out groups and social networks – so it could be a good starting point.

Anyway, all the best with your journey (yes an over used word – but it seems to fit!)

Warm regards,

Sarab
