I was encouraged to read of the response of your Dad. That was so good. Fantastic actually.


What maybe of help as the discussion with him progresses is to realize that what is in the translations we have, is often not what is in the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures. At first this may seem a bit technical, but if you stick with it, you will read how 7000 (90%) wrote back to the publisher about it and agreed with it. 350 gays planned to take their own lives over this issue and decided against it. A sample of those emails are at the end of the paper.

Yes I agree with David about the translations being different and the importantance of trying to uncover the original meanings. We also interpret them through our western culture and period which is problematic and worlds away from the historical/cultural contexts of biblical times.

thanks David T…….this reminded me that we also have a letter from a current Baptist minister in the heterosexual friends, family and supporters section of our site about this.
