Tonight #@ 8:00pm (EDST Sydney time) Glenn Wheeler interviews Peter Madden from the Christian Democratic Party and Anthony Venn-Brown, LGBT Community Leader.

Peter Madden has called for a shut down of ‘Mardi Gras anarchy’ and has painted a very dark picture of one of the leading events on the Sydney calendar and the gay community as whole. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KedTNaSnDA8

Anthony Venn-Brown challenges the truth of Maddens sensationalist and fear-mongering statements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyFJ4jj80KI

Listeners can call in to join the discussion on 131873. Call in at 8 to make sure you get on air.

If you are not in Sydney you can listen live on this link. http://www.2gb.com/listenlive/index.php

Hi avb

I’m sorry that I’ll miss the interview tonight as I’m going out.

I’ll be thinking of you and sending positive energy your way.

Hey, Anthony – May God give you the right words to say. I know that you will stay gracious and cool. Watch out for ‘red herrings’ which aren’t worth discussing.

Bless ya!

[Yuk, I am going to have to listen to 2GB .. .. .. such a right-wing station with a majority of listeners in the older age bracket. ]

I didn’t know that the life expectancy gap was so large (*hits the gym to decrease gap*)…

You barely got a word in. Might be a good thing. Peter is pretty good at convincing people not to agree with him. 😉

That must have been very frustrating.

Too easy!!

Good job AVB – gracious and courteous and you maintained your integrity through the whole thing. Peter on the other hand – can he dig the hole any deeper? He didn’t seem to know what he was arguing against and was all over the place.

I thought the host did a good job refraining from belting the guy!

Anyway, breathe easy AVB. If we were scoring, I reckon you won by a mile.

I thought it went well. Agree with you Matt. The longer Peter kept talking the bigger the whole he dug for himself. I spoke on aversion therapy, but would have really liked to have said a lot more. It really is an independent test that proves if a person is gay or not. They don’t do the electricity “punishments” any more, thank heavens.

AVB did very well. As one who has never been to a Mardi Gras, one of the best things about the Freedom 2(b)e group is the way they dress. Unfortunately the way most of the rest dress in the event tends to reinforce the views of many of what a homosexual person is like.

However I thought Glenn, the compere was very good. How attitudes change when people know someone who is gay. It reinforces the need for more gays to come out.

Same same describes you as a “prominent LGBT equality campaigner”:
