Thanks for posting this. I saw it on Oprah, when as often happens, I tuned in ‘accidentally’ at the right time. I was very moved by regarding Chely’s father’s response and the way they looked at each other.

I loved her Dad’s advice to parents, “Don’t close the door, but open the heart.” Such a gracious, loving man.

I know. A fantastic piece of advice. And the way Chely looked at him moved me to tears. It was really beautiful. I also liked how when told the news that his daughter was gay, he described his processing of same. He said that he knew his daughter and that that truth won over what he thought he knew from the bible. I wish all parents of LGBT people could see this interview.
