Hmm I was so hoping you wouldn’t ask that AVB 😆 😆

Its from a fiction novel called Put Away Wet published by Bold Strokes Books in America. I’m sure you can get it in Darlinghurst if you wanted too.

I’m going to make a judgement call here and advise you not to though. Really, thats about the only significant thing in it and I don’t believe I even finished the book this sounds ridiclous but she’s a terrible writer. Take that part on its own and its pure genius. The book though…well I have a book shaped dent in my wall. Right beside the one I made from throwing Mathias Medias’ Pure Sex. And…how do I say this? Its lesbian…like really really lesbian. You’d probably get that look on your face that people get when looking at a car crash…you know…part morbid curiosity part absolute horror 😆 😆

thanks for that….I really am not starving for reading material……I just ordered 5 more books on amazon.com for research on my new book.

its amazing isn’t it how you can read a whole book and there is only one paragraph which is really valuable. I’ve had that happen several times.

feel free to advise about not wasting time…..any time.

I’m doing a Masters by Research, and I guess my special interest is in the former ex-gay identity, how one creates their identity from ‘the ashes’ i suppose, for want of a better term. I’m interested in the use of power displayed by religious institutions in creating the ‘normative’, and the ‘acceptable’, by forcing dogma onto individuals to force out… ‘deviant’ behaviour.

As I’ve said previously, there will be a point when I might be interested in interviewing or asking some other question.

I’m also not coming from this topic as an outsider – I have also been a recipient of much of the emotional abuse put upon us by the institution… and know many others too.

I have the ex-gay research one at home…somewhere. I’m happy to send it to you Rachel if you’d like. I’m not starving for reading material either. Basically it analyses this dude called Spitzer and his study in relation to science, religion, politics and culture. Not a bad read for an academic book.

Did anyone watch Desperate Housewives this week? SOOO funny.

A gay character said something like “apart from the occasional parade, we don’t usually mix with lesbians in the wild”. 😆

Um, yeah, okay, that was the side diversion. Now back to the main topic: I’d be happy to share the materials/memories I have from my own ‘ex-gay’ experience with Living Waters circa 2005-2006.

Wow, awesome – what a privilege to hear your story… feel free to send me a private message, or if you feel comfortable, in this discussion.

Going through this kind of experience sounds Full On. And would be different for each person.

And no, I didn’t see Desperate Housewives.. and it’s funny how much playful animosity there is between gay men and lesbians, isnt it?!

Yeah yeah. I’m still trying to work out how to make it fit within your word limit, instead of aiming for a novella. 😉
