In a move that has saddened many members of the gay community Julia Gillard is firming her stance on gay marriage, by upholding legislation that would prevent Australian gay couples from marrying overseas.

That is incredibly sad. Only 29% of Australians are homophobic, according to 2008 Morgan research!

We have a long way to go, but we should never give up. We will win in the end.

This press release from AME is not entirely accurate (how typical of them of late).

The document they talk about is NOT REQUIRED in most countries that have Same-Sex Marriage. So basically this is no big deal and is no change to what has and already is occurring.

For example you can and will still be able to fly to Canada and get married with or with out the document they are referring to.
