Quite possible many bookshops just order copies of whatever the distributor catalogues have in them without paying much attention, but it is good that they have it, anyway. 🙂

Just the fact that ithis book was published by IVF would cause Koorong to not question the content.

Actually, it was quite forward-looking .. .. .. brave, even .. .. of IVF to publish it – given their reputable evangelical theological position.

Of course, this book (along with Rob Buckingham’s recent sermon of note) does not fully endorse matters “gay” – rather, they question the traditional church approach and response, and the traditional understanding that a person can’t actually be inherantly gay. And reach out to us with gracious Christian spirits.

But, both the book (and Andrew Marin’s ministry) and sermons like Rob B’s, PLUS the good work of people like Dr Roland Croucher, Dr Keith Dyer, Rev Nathan Nettleton, Pastor Michael Hercock (and others) in raIsing difficult (for the church) questions challenging entrenched viewpoints, are most commendable.

Remember, all of these guys are hetrosexual. And come from backgrounds where they would have previously have been indoctrinated with the traditional church view of homosexuality. Brave and forward-thinking men. So many pastors are still unquestioningly believing the stuff they were taught in theological college all those years ago. And, sadly, feeding that down to their congregations. Many pastors/ministers live in a bit of cocoon with only limited & superficial exposure to the non-Christian world around them. We should be praying for them.
