Saw a report on TEN morning news this morning about Renee Richards. Inspiring story.

It brings to mind a question in my mind: Do we have any high profile transgender people in Australia? And are there any transgender Christians that F2B reaches?

Just curious — being out here in the bush I’m a little away from it all. 😥 lol.

I know of and have met transgendered people who come from a Pente background but none are active in Frredom 2 b(e).

they maybe somewhere in the forum but haven’t spoken up yet.

I was just thinking, I wonder if the reason why some of the transgendered, if there be any on the site, havent spoken up yet for the reason that, they may have fully embraced their new gender and just consider themselves one of the girls, which they are now. But even so it would be a priviledge to hear the journey and what had brought peace with God. Even for the transexual or transvestite for that matter.

I have a very good friend who is transgendered, maybe I should ask her.

(Im sorry if this sounds ignorant or silly, but I am genuinely interested and in want of an education on the subject)

transgenderism is something i think most of us are pretty ignorant about Maggie…….I know i have been. I’m glad that I’ve had two coaching clients who educated me. One MTF and the other FTM.

Still have lots to learn though.

I met a great person from an AOG church here in Sydney who is transgender and now living as a women…..she has an amzing story to tell. I’ve encouraged her to do that here on the forum….but hasn’t appeared as yet.

We often get bundled into the same bag……non heterosexual minorites (sexuality and gender)……but we have lots of differences….just look at us gay men and lesbians for example……. 😀 .

I good test to see how informed we are is if we can explain the differences between

1. transgender

2. transexual

3. transvestite

4. Intersex

The top three I know, but intersex I have no idea about at all. shock

Is that changing from being man/woman vice versa from time to time? but not strictly either or?

in your spare time. 😆 ….you can read

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intersex

basically though intersex noun

one having both male and female sexual characteristics and organs; at birth an unambiguous assignment of male or female cannot be made [syn: hermaphrodite]

Intersexuality is a term used to describe a person whose sex chromosomes, genitalia and/or secondary sex characteristics are determined to be neither exclusively male nor female. A person with intersex may have biological characteristics of both the male and female sexes.

The term hermaphordite has become obsolete.

i know a few pente transsexuals… they arent a part of this but attend my church… I dont think sexuality and gender stuff coincides… but i understand why people mix it up. Its easier for people to grasp if they are put into boxes….

i see myself as androgynous, or neither male nor female… which is a gender issue not a sexuality issue. Not unlike Grace Jones, David Bowie….

Oh ok, now I get androgynous……I like getting it right because if I ask and say the wrong thing some people get very offended, also when I look at posts I get a little confused and think, what does that mean? Some people like to have a label, I dont, Im the same as you Jannah to a degree. I never think of the transgendered, transexuals or transvestites as anything but the girls, I know tho that sometimes transvestites are just men or boys at times, I knew a great guy, a tradesman that was Nancy at times and other times Paul. A sweet person.
