I came across some interesting research about Lesbian Parents today and though it might be worth sharing.

Turns out having a lesbian mum may lead to better academic results, less behavioural problems and higher self-esteem.

I blogged about it here: http://one-two-read.blogspot.com/2011/02/kids-are-alright-same-sex-parents.html

I actually wanted to see that movie. I will have to get it out now, to watch.

I don’t know from personal experience what it would be like to grow up with a same sex parents. But I would imagine that the prejudices for ‘sme sex parenting’ has similarities for those experienced by ‘single mothers’. i.e. what sort of example are they setting? What about the absence of a father figure? and so on.

And it is so relevant to todays debate about the legal rights of GLBT ability to have children, either through natural birth, adoption or surrogacy.
