Back to the topic at hand. i dont think that argument is good enough. It sounds very gopod. But, there is no factual evidence in it. ALL the bible says isknow comes to the father except through me… thats it, it doesn’t give provisos… it doesn’t say please interpret me to mean something more, something harsher and harder to abide by… it just says that end of story… there is no continuance. Why would it say just that sentence if there was more to it????

Unforunately, I dont think you will find factual evidence, its all by faith, either we believe it or we dont, either we accept it or we dont. There is no proof of an afterlife, yet we know from what we hear, that people have died and come back and saw “something” and the stories of what people saw are very similar and these people have never even met. I have seen spirits and scary ones at that, so first hand I know there is an afterlife.

Im interested to know what factual evidence it is youre after tho, im intrigued and challenged its sooo coool wink

I have never seen Jesus, yet the experiences I have had show me without a doubt that He is real and I have personal evidence that what he says must be true………Funny thing is, before I just accepted the fact that I need to believe and fully gave over to it, I thought the same as you Frogger in some ways, I tried full heartedly the new age thing and the spiritualist church thing and nothing could even come close to what I now have in Jesus…..

I guess what I am trying to say is that we wont find hard evidence to prove that Jesus is the way to the Father, all I can say is that Jesus was either a great PR person in marketing a concept or he was a madman, if he was either one of these then millions of people have been led astray over history very irresponsibly.

I know people of certain other sects have suicided to prove their God exists and thats sad but since when has anyone allowed themselves through their own will to be put through one of the worst punishments imaginable……He mustve been onto something to do that……..In all honesty because God is so relational and He is spirit, when we are dealing with him it will be to do with that which is unseen and by faith and sometimes it can take many of us a long time to have a revelation that yes, this is all very real and true……

The sad thing, about what the church as a whole has done, is that they have made God the judge of all things now and so many go about judging everyone and everything and out of that you have these moves of hate and violence against people that God came to save and love. Who in their right mind would want to become a part of something or believe in someone that causes so many to hate and kill????

Yet thats not what it is all about, its not about the church, its about you and God at the end of the day. Its easy to gang up and pick on a minority group, when will a church have the guts to gang up and pull together to reach out in love and tackle the real issues of the day, prejudice, hatred and misjudgement due to ignorance. cry

i dont question that people must know who Jesus is…. but it it doesnt give a clear indication of what that means… so i think as you get to know God, He will reveal it to us…. thats all i think…. and we learn some parts because it matters the most, and some parts later…. should be making a call as to what God shares with people….. or question the validity of their salvation…. thoughts girls… oh and boys if they care to join in

I’m not sure what to say Jannah except that the Bible (that we Christians believe to be fact both through faith and historical accounts) says exactly who Jesus is. It’s very plain. If you read one of the gospels, esepically John they reveal who Jesus is and what he was doing on earth. The gospels reveal some fundamental truths about Jesus about the ‘me’ he is talking about. Sure he doesn’t go into specific deatil at that particular moment but if you read the gospels in their entirety then it becomes pretty clear.

OK so technically I said I wasn’t going to post again but I didn’t anticipate this topic coming up and it’s such a wonderful one to discuss. In contemporary society it is fashionable to assume that all religions lead to salvation because they all believe in a higher power and they are all about being nice to each other. If we as Christians are to believe the Bible, believe in Jesus and therefore believe his words we must concede that anyone who wishes to know the Father must first know Jesus. β€œFor no one comes to the father except through me.” It is Jesus as God who forgives us of our sins and makes it possible for us to be saved. If we do not know Jesus then our sins can not be saved, and we can not come to the Father.

wow… thats true… I keep getting this scripture where the bible says something on the line of they will enter heaven by the skin of their teeth… I will search the scripture for that…. smile. At the time I was grieving for a person’s salvation who passed over… I thought surely God might have gotten in the last few seconds. We don’t die till we are ready… even people in horrible instance death situation… there is that nano second of the time when we realise what happened and call out to God. Hmmmm I wonder.

Don’t quote me till I get hold of that scripture… I love it when I am looking and looking … I see other scriptures… smile. Makes me read the bible again and again… just to let God’s word wash into me. πŸ™‚

I really like how we are focusing on what Jesus would do and Jesus’s ministry… because the Church is really following Paul. Smile. Its Paulinatity not Christianity.. smile with a giggle… I mean God is good… he manage to stop Paul who used to be Saul from killing Christians. And Paul always refer himself as the chief of all sin… oh he was always so humble… a lot of people could take a leaf from his examples… sigh. I am so convinced that if Paul came back today – he would be in the intesive ward with a heart attack! He would be gobsmacked with all the technology and information… and yet Christianity today persecutes Homosexual and blocks them from God.

I think that’s where we have our “homosexual” issues coming out of what Paul says… when you look at what he is saying, he really is referring to temple positiute… so I hear from ohters but not searched that out… too busy working and reading other aspect of the bible. Maybe I should just get rid of all the books in the house and just stick to the bible… eh? Smile. And get rid of the TV.. I would miss seeing Grant’s face on TV, the Supernatural, the Praise service on Sunday… hmmmm thinking… thinking… anyone wants my TV, it”s big! Better ask Steve, my partner, first.

Here ya go Craig…….

1Cor310-15(nkjv)

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.

11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

D wink
