Guess we’ll just have to step our efforts in promoting lesbianism, eh? Hehe. 😆

I’m working on it!! 😆 😆

its an interesting phenomena isn’t it………always more gay men than lesbians on the forum……same in our chapter meetings…..same at other mixed community organisations or meetings…….why ❓

I’ve searched for an answer for some time now to see what I could do to attract more of our sisters and in the process hopefully become more lesbian sensitive.

It was actually going to be the topic at our next Sydney meeting this friday…..but difficult to organise the girls to do it.

My conclusions.

1. Stats seem to point there are less lesbians than gay men. (this is difficult to evaluate but possibly half)

2. Gay men are from Jupiter and lesbians are from Pluto. this means we are in different orbits and even further apart than heterosexual men (from mars) and heterosexual women (venus). We think differently, socialise differently, do relationships differently, bisexuality is more common amongst lesbians but rare amongst gay men……..what else.

Because we are so different often there is hostility between the two groups.

(not here though) 😀 😀 😀

Maybe a women with same sex attractions is more likely to marry a men. While men are different wired than women.

maybe they cannot relate to a lot of the content being discussed here as it can be majority male (luckily meg comes in to save the day).

I think it would be benificial to also have guys/girls only sections on the forum to discuss gender specific topics.

thoughts??

Well, I try. Not sure how successful I am, but we also have Ann Maree and Sandy here to add there 2 cents worth occasionally too.

That might be useful. I wonder how others feel about the idea?

It is a shame isn’t it? And it’s not just this forum, but lots of other places I’ve seen. A lot of these mainstream gay news sites seem to target their content towards gay men, as many of them include a focus on male sensuality. It seems that just in general, lesbians just aren’t equally represented. Yet in things like the Metropolitan Community Church, most of the ministers are women. So it is a bit of a conundrum trying to figure out why lesbians are represented well in some areas and not others. Regardless, I’d love to have more women on this site, be they L, B, or T. Girls are just plain awesome. You don’t be need to sexually attracted to them to be able to see that. 🙂

The ‘Telling Our Stories’ section has lots of real-life stories of gay guys who have embarked on a journey to reconcile their sexual orientation with their Christian beliefs. I would encourage you to read through these, and also to actively check out the ‘Discussion’ section to become familiar with everyday issues that affect us as gay guys.

There are also a good number of women on this forum too. 😉 But us gays seem to outnumber them. Wish we had more women here though. Guess we’ll just have to step our efforts in promoting lesbianism, eh? Hehe. 😆

Maybe I’m forgetting something.

…..and remember our wonderful magsdee…..

It would be interesting to see what percentage of our stories our male and how many female. Anyone got the time to count that?

I wonder too if another contributing factor is the amount of internet usage both groups have. I think I read somewhere that gay men are bigger internet users that lesbians……but that might be influenced by their use of hook up sites….. 😆

Hi everyone

This is interesting. I hadn’t even noticed that there were more men than women on this site and I haven’t found the topics especially malecentric.

And yes, Bryan, girls are awesome! I’m curious to know what do you like so much about them.

Guys aren’t so bad either. 😀

PS I just posted a reply to another of your threads but think it ended up in another discussion that may not make sense. I don’t know how I did that. The one I intended to answer was about inner vs external struggles.
