for me the connection back to God is perhaps a little different in some ways. Certainly when i found sites such as this one it was a dramatic and wonderfully exhilerating time for me. I could be a God lover and a gay man.

WOW

But the reconciliation of my sexuality with God is a part of my journey as it is with all of us. Mine however is one where me accepting i was gay and when i reconciled with the God factor too, also allowed me to open up other areas of concern, questions etc of my faith i just accepted blindly in obedience without regards for other considerations. And those i challenged lecturers and pastors and leaders on over the years where their answers were not satisfactory I now anticipate wil be interesting answers, whenever they will arrive. I have many more questions than answers these days and find it very exciting really. This time in my life is one of amazing questioning and for a personality that i have it is amazing. Being one to always needing the answer and quickly I thought this period would be so frustrating but it is great. I have opened my mind and heart/spirit to many things, but in that i still ask Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth each and every day.

So all in all, this is perhaps the most interesting time in my life to this point.

I think in our journey now oooooo we can look at everything more enlightened. We know from experience that it is easy to just accept everything you’re taught as truth….only to find out it was terribly wrong…..and cause untold suffering.

I don’t think I can ever go back to God while I am an out gay man. The organisation I grew up in was so intricately linked with anti-homosexual agendas that I cannot seperate God from homophobia. It is sad as in lots of ways I miss my church days: the friends, worship, prayer life, social events etc. However I just look at is as a phase of life, like school or university that we only do once in our life then move on to the next stage of our life, which for me was life as a gay man.

Hi Raskdog, it’s ok to feel that way or think that way 🙂 . I was taught in bible study that when we accept Christ, he grips us on our forarm and likewise we do the same (rather than grip by hand) and if I let go, Jesus still got me… and I can guarantee that Jesus won’t let us go easily. We can tone down his messages to a dull noise, we can choose not to get involved, read scriptures, disassociate ourselves from others who follow Jesus. The fact that the sacrifice God made for us demonstrates the love that’s has no limits and totally understands where we are coming from.

The rejection we get from the Church is real and so sad, and the embarrassment we feel too 🙁 . Loss of friends as soon as they find out… I just remember that God’s perspective is higher and has meaning and purpose for each and everyone of us and that our brothers and sisters in Christ make mistakes just like we do… its not totally their fault, they only following what they have been taught 😳 . God can not impede on their freewill which includes their attitudes… those who are Christians and embraces Gay Christian are those rare ones that worked it out and continue to radiate with God’s love.

I’ve learnt to separate Church from God. God really doesn’t have a say in what goes on in church or to dictate what he wants. It’s kinda wrapped in “freewill” and that God will not impose. What Church teaches and do to people is deplorable and greatly saddens God. Whatever you do mate, I hope you find happiness in yourself and be who you are.

I just want to say I totally agree with you and I can see where you are coming from. 🙂

Giggles – thanks for the welcome back. Its a real priviledge for me to be involved with discussions and being a part of shaping the thoughts towards better future where Gay people will be welcomed in mainstream church community.

Sigh… yeah… that’s because no Uni and no extra study to take so I have all these spare times… giggles… though it would be good to do a spot of house cleaning… nah… can do that later when I have the energy to do so. At the moment I can read and write with little expense of energy… giggles… its also due to the fact that I have come back from a energising holiday so have so much energy at the moment.

Well its great to have you back Craig! Who knows maybe you will get a cameo in the 2008 F2b review as the most obsessive poster, though Mags will probably leave off the chilli remark so it may not have the same punch.

We love hearing from you so keep it up.
