Recently Outed Christian TV Host Diagnosed with Tumor

Former Gay Christian TV Host Azariah Southworth emitted into E.R.

Nashville, TN (June 8, 2008) – Former host of a popular Christian TV show The Remix and recently outed, Azariah Southworth was emitted into Baptist Hospital’s E.R. around midnight last night in Nashville, TN.

“My friend just lightly tapped me on the arm where the bump was and blood just started pouring out,” says Southworth. He describes it on his myspace blog as ‘a dime size in diameter’ purple looking bump on his left arm.

After being examined at the E.R., the two doctors and nurse did not know what the growth on Southworth’s arm was. Azariah says, “I was told by the doctors, I need to have it removed next week in surgery and checked for cancer. I’m nervous and scared but I have faith it’ll be alright.” Southworth is asking for everyone to keep him in their prayers as he now ‘walks through this trial.’

Azariah Southworth was the host of a popular syndicated Christian TV show, The Remix, until he came out as gay on April 16, 2008. After it was publicized on Fox News, PerezHilton.com, the HuffingtonPost.com, and thousands of other sites, The Remix was immediately canceled from all the Christian networks (TBN, NRB, and VTN) without comment or reason.

Hi, been lurking more than posting recently, but still here!

More prayer on the church front, please. I’ve just organised a second conversation with the new minister, for Friday lunchtime. To be honest I don’t hold out much hope that it will be a fruitful conversation… but I still believe that God can do amazing things in any situation.

Also, the news that I am planning to leave, and WHY, is beginning to leak out. There are signs it could cause real division in the parish, which I don’t want. It’s impossible for me to just ‘leave quietly’ because of playing music in the church – people will notice I’m gone – but I’m already getting supportive phone calls and indications that some people are very upset at the suggestion that there is no place for me in ministry due to my sexuality. Even if there is no place for me in that particular parish any more, I don’t want to leave a damaged parish in my wake.

can I ask what denomination. You dont have to answer of course.
