Nope not causing any problems apart from the reflux, the specialist increased my meds I had to drink something beofre I ‘went under’ a little concotion that smelled and tasted like Mylanta think that showed them there was reflux there but am on Rx meds.

My 24 year old son had to have a hernia op last year, they say he could even have been born with it as they couldn’t do keyhole surgery and he has quite a big scar. He works in a hotel bottle shop so was lifting crates and boxes of beer etc and doubling over every time

Yes being an IV sedative it wasn’t like a general anaesthetic, much gentler and nicer when you wake up.

Hi Sage, far out I know what you are going through and its true, you dont know what to say but funny when the times comes it kindve comes out right the best it can anyway. I will pray for you and your Dad, its great to hear he is more open minded, always helps some. Youre a brave girl for doing it, I pray Gods protection and peace over the conversation.

my thoughts etc are with you. its brave thing to do. I know that journey as many on here do. Its not an easy one but the weight lifted makes life much easier.

The only thing i can think of is to make sure you dont feel ashamed of yourself or make anyone feel like your wrong…. be confident and it helps others….

I hope you’re right! I might just have to blurt something out and hope he understands.

Thanks. I know once I’ve done it it’ll be such a relief, even if the reaction is not so good, I’ll be glad it’s out in the open and I no longer have to hide anything.

I wish someone else could do it in my place though, any takers? I’ll wash your dishes for a week or something πŸ™„

Yeah I’m a little worried about that since it’s all somewhat new to me too. I know when my brother eventually finds out he’ll drill me with questions about how I could possibly think it’s not sinning etc. In times like that I tend to forget what I’ve learned and make myself look unsure, especially when it’s new to me too!

Hey Sage…..coming out can be a wonderfully empowereing experience…a couragious act.

The closet is never good place to be for our own sense of self. When you think of all the emotions that exist in the closet……how could it be good for anyone’s mental health.

If it all possible I think it is much better for the person to take responsiblity for doing it themselves. ….to kill the risk of exposure, a scandal, being outed etc……which are never handled appropriately and can be traumatic. I dont think we should give that power to anyone else.

I do respect everyones right to choose when and if they do come out however.

I think this could be an interesting discussion that lots of our lurkers woudl read. Why don’t you cut and paste your original post and start a new thread…..possibly call it……’to come out or not to come out’…..and see what happens.

here are some quotes i’ve collected that might help with your decision.

Coming Out is spiritually cleansing. Harvey Milk of San Francisco was the first openly gay elected official in the United States in 1978. Harvey repeatedly said: β€œCome out, and when you do, you will feel so much better.” Before he was assassinated in 1979, Harvey predicted that he would be murdered, but he said that he would gladly take a bullet if it would blast open all of the closet doors that trap and imprison gay people. You will feel better about yourself and you will see yourself and the whole world as a more beautiful place when you come out.

Coming Out is liberation from a host of unclean spirits. Homosexuality is not demonic, but homophobia is. Coming Out is an exorcism of the destructive forces that deceive you into believing evil things and rejecting yourself and your own reality.

Thank you Anthony for sharing such a powerful quote… its so true that it is liberating and good to be out of the closet. There are so many issues that dies when one leaves the darkness behind and let the sunlight oblivorates the nasty bits.. πŸ™„ .
