Heyya! Fellow Anglicans! we’re taking over the site (and the world!!)

Yeah, I’m in a kind of similar position in my church- except that I’ve only opened up to a 1 or 2 people, whose support and ability to not blab I am entirely confident in- eventually though, that will change and God only knows how that will spin out- particularly considering my church is conservative even by Sydney Anglican standards…

I’m in prayer for your situtation Orfeo-

the great thing about a site like this is that we can come from such different denominations and yet so much of our experience is the same.

HA! Looks that site is only about figures in the United Kingdom. We’re doing great business in Africa I’m told.

Of course, that’s where the bishops who’d like to hang, draw and quarter me are… but at least they’re ANGLICAN homophobes. 😉

…and hence we have the deep division in the anglican communion ……right orfeo. 😀

…..and from what I hear that is all the African bishops do…..but I’ll refrain from mentioning it here. We do have guidelines about what can be said on this site. 😆

To cut a long story short doctors have discovered a “mass” in my colon area and at this point in time are not sure if it is a tumor or the colon (due to another medical condition) is stuck to the bowel. I have to have more tests to try to determine just what the “mass’ is.

Amazingly I am not stressed about this. AVB will attest to the fact that I was a real stress head at one time, I think The Lord may have healed me in that area.

I would just appreciate prayer for the situation.

Thanks

Shirl

Ok,

So I am really really scared and nervous at the moment. I am almost at the point of breaking down. As most of you know, I am planning to tell my parents this weekend about me being gay.

Well I am not only really nervous and panicking at the moment about it but tonight my parents were saying the worst things about gay people. It was almost too much to handle. I don’t know if they have any idea. And I think I am scared that they might throw me out of home. I doubt it but it’s always a possibility. I am so sick of feeling like a constant dissapointment to them. Add to that the fact that I feel so scared just going to church nowadays.

I just really need prayer at the moment. I don’t know what to do. I am definitely telling my parents this weekend but I can’t help but be scared about it. Please pray for me. 🙂

But In every dark situation there is always light and my uni friends are incredible. I think they know about my sexuality and I plan to tell them properly this Thursday. I know that they will support and love me no matter what. And I am going to a mate’s place to stay the night when I tell my parents so at least I won’t have to deal with the initial yelling. Praise God!!!!!

😀

God forbid that you would ever be thrown out of your house. I know Ps Brian would be most upset about it.

I remember when he was doing the series on the family he said that he could never understand how christian parents could do such a thing to their gay and lesbian children. He said that no matter what……he would still love his kids. So I guess you have an ally there all the way to the top.

in the event that something terrible happens we have a refuge for young people like yourself as well.

once again…..if you need a particular person to talk to them let me know. I know several of the staff. All these organisations I’ve recommended are highly reputable……but lets pray you won’t need them.

Well, my last post in here now has a thread of its own… 😉

But, to come back here: it’s official, I’m leaving my church. As of Sunday morning lots of people know this, although most of them don’t know specifically why.

It was my last time playing music at the early service, where we do traditional hymns. I got a bit teary at the end. In two weeks time will be my last time being in the band at the other service.

The minister was being all smiling and nice on Sunday morning. I just about wanted to slap him.

I went into a bout of depression, Monday morning I didn’t get up until around lunchtime. So, can’t say I’m coping with life ESPECIALLY well. But, the decision is made now. Hopefully I can start moving on. Really appreciate people’s prayers though!
