Hey guys, Im in need of some prayer, mum has almost sent me over the edge these last 3 days with her early dementia and the family not budging to help me, Im the one in the wheelchair and yet expecting me to look out for her and the occassional irrational outburts. I need strength and cant afford another breakdown because of her…….

Thanks everyone for your kind words of encouragement and prayers etc

I am now officially out! 😀

Though no thanks to my own courage really. I ended up chickening out telling my dad that night, but last week I met with him for lunch. I was sort of (bearly) planning to tell him that afternoon, but I never know how to bring the topic up!

Thankfully he finally came out and asked me directly. I guess I’m less hidden in the closet than I thought haha. So I told him everything. He brought up a few things from the past and said they made sense now etc.

I really worried for nothing… he was SOO supportive and positive, I was amazed. Coming from a Christian family I figured there would be at least some sort of “But the Bible does say….”, but even we ~I~ mentioned it, he just said we don’t choose who we’re attracted to. It makes so much more sense when someone else says it so simply.

It really reminded me of how great my family is 🙂 Now I just need to tell my brother, he is likely to be the toughest one, but after talking to my dad about it I think he’ll be fairly supportive, albeit a little concerned at first.

Thanks again for all your encouragement 🙂

Anthony, where did you want this topic posted?? In the general discussion?

Hope things are going better with your mum mags. I remember having to look after my mum when she was ill too, though the family did help. Even then is was really tough!

I pray God will give you the strength, endurance and love to keep pushing on and to be there for her when she needs you, and patience and love for dealing with your family.

My mum used to say that when you have difficult tasks or ones you just don’t want to do! think that you’re doing them for Jesus instead and tackle them with all you’ve got for Him 🙂

Not easy, but it always helped to lift my spirits at least.

Thanks for reminding me Sage, it is true, we do things as if we are doing them for the Lord D Thankyou for your prayers.

Thats great news about your Dad and I hope all goes just as well with bro. most of the time, our parents know without having to say anything but its still releasing when you can say it yourself.

You’re welcome, and yes.. it was a HUGE relief to have it out in the open. I knew he already suspected, but it’s different to have him ~know~ for sure.

He came over for dinner last night and afterwards my GF said “Wow!… he didn’t act any differently with me!!” haha, he now has a fan.

Hey everyone, this morning was told about my grandmother who had a stroke and followed by heart attack that happened last night. She is now in Hornsby Hospital, in a coma. I rushed over this evening and spent a good 3 hours with her, just holding her hand and talking.

My prayer request is that Nan will either recover or not. Not much of a prayer but this I ask is that Nan pain to be kept at a minimum, that her brain activity would be more calmer, that she will be able to hear and understand what we say to her. And that love ones will be present when Nan decided its enough.

I’d like prayers for my cousins who are feeling a bit shocked to see Nan in a pretty bad situation – that they will feel comforted and feel ok to touch Nan and to be able to say good bye.

I also want to lift praise to our God who have kept my Nan alive so that we can enjoy our precious time with her.

Thanks – just feeling a bit overwhelmed, and incredibly sad – I think its called a heartache and for now, its just living for Nan and to support the family members. I also pray that we get a chance to see Nan awake to be able to connect and be able to say goodbye incase she decides it’s all good and ready to go.

Thanks everyone. I will be off the computer for about a week. Thanks.

I was in contact with Maggie a few days ago. She seems to be doing well and is being entertained greatly by the people she shares a room with. She’s a trooper 🙂
